About Tupelo Tool & DieTupelo Tool & Die was founded in 1970 and was operated for 20 years by brothers Lee and Bob Earnest. During these years an outstanding reputation was earned for producing high quality tooling and dies. In 1990 the business was purchased by the present management (TT&D, Inc.). The new owners brought extensive manufacturing experience and a commitment to maintain and enhance the tool and die reputation. In 1991 the design function was converted to CAD; in 1992 we purchased a wire EDM; and in 1993 we added CNC machining capability. In 1998 we expanded our physical plant by 50%, improving capabilities in both our tool room and production areas. A new 5-ton bridge crane (covering about 5000 square feet) improved safety and efficiency in handling large dies, and the addition of a 250 ton stamping line increased production capacity and the range of dies that we can try out in-house. In 1999 we added an extranet service for our online customers giving us the capability to collaborate on projects and share information in real time over the Internet. In 2000 we acquired a 500 ton press for tryout of large dies (bed size 52" X 134"). In 2002 a new product division, TTD Industries, was created for the purpose of producing, marketing, and selling individual products. | |
